Preparation Instruction
Oven Preparation
(Best for Golden Browning)

  1. PREHEAT oven to 400°F.
  2. COMBINE 2 1/4 cups boiling water, 1/2 cup milk, and 2 Tbsp. butter in 1 1/2-quart casserole.
  3. STIR in one packet of sauce mix. Add one pouch of potato slices and mix thoroughly.
  4. BAKE uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes.
  5. Note: For preparation of multiple casseroles at once, increase baking dish size accordingly and add 5 minutes of cook time for every additional casserole.
Stove Top Preparation
  1. HEAT one pouch of potato slices, one packet of sauce mix, 2 cups hot water, 1/2 cup of milk, and 2 Tbsp. butter to boil in 2-quart saucepan over high heat, stirring occasionally.
  2. REDUCE HEAT.
  3. COVER and simmer 15 to 16 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken slightly when cooling.
  4. Note: For preparation of multiple casseroles at once, increase baking dish size accordingly and add 5 minutes of cook time for every additional casserole.
Microwave Preparation

(All microwaves vary and heating times may have to be adjusted.)

  1. COMBINE 2 1/4 cups boiling water and 2 Tbsp. butter in a microwave-safe 3-quart casserole.
  2. STIR in one packet of sauce mix. Add one pouch of potato slices and mix thoroughly.
  3. COOK covered in microwave for 15 minutes on full power (100%).
  4. STIR in 1/2 cup milk and microwave 5 minutes on full power (100%). Then, stir again and serve. Note: Cooking more than one casserole at a time in the microwave is not recommended.
  5. *Margarine can be used in place of butter.
